6 Drugstore brands you should check out!

We all want to look beautiful right? But unfortunately not all of us can afford to spend upwards of £40 every time we need to top up on foundation. Recently drugstore brands have been seriously stepping up their game, making it much easier to look like Chanel, on a drugstore budget.

Makeup artists across the industry still have drugstore favorites that they come back to again and again, old faithful products and new innovative products too! I'm a firm believer in savvy shopping, and I can assure you that in the makeup industry, price doesn't equal quality. So read on to unlock the secret to looking fabulous on a budget with my 8 favorite drugstore brands (in no particular order).

1. L'Oreál Paris
Founded in 1909, L'Oreál is a French brand that has been around as long as I can remember. I always think of that very clean, classic Parisian look when it comes to L'Oreál. Clear luminous skin and natural makeup. If you like very refined, polished natural makeup then see my top picks from them below.
Price range: £5.99-£15.99

Top picks
L'Oréal Paris True Match Foundation
When I really got into makeup was on a serious budget and I'd heard rave reviews about this foundation online. After using it religiously for almost a year, I can confirm that everything you've heard is true. It gives a beautiful dewy finish without surrendering its full coverage nature and its got SPF 17; Radiance and protection!

Top Picks
L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
If you want soft, beautiful voluminous lashes, this mascara is a winner.
L'Oreal Paris Life's A Peach Blush
Beautifully pigmented and equally lovely colors, this blush is always in my kit.

2. Bourjois
Another french brand that has been around for almost 200 years, and another classic staple that gives off the suave elegance we associate with french cosmetics. Very feminine and elegant, Bourjois puts a lot of thought into their products and range.
Price range: £3.99 - £14.99

Top picks
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
This was the first foundation I ever used, luckily my mother has an interest and knowledge of makeup, so I avoided being an orange faced blob, smeared in Mac that was 4 shades too dark. For just under ten pounds, you get a good amount of coverage and hydration from this foundation, plus it smells divine.
Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher
An iconic staple of the Bourjois brand, a wonderful color range and beautiful pigmentation.

3. MUA
Recently established, MUA has taken the world by storm with its range of super cheap cruelty free drugstore makeup. I have mixed feelings about MUA, some products I love and some I hate. They either seem to get it perfect or complete disaster. Heres some guidance for my best products.
Price Range: £1.00-£10.00

Top Picks
MUA Burning embers eyeshadow palette
The range of matte and metallic shades in this palette make it an amazing staple, the warm tones and shade range provide 100s of possible looks. I know I mentioned this palette in a recent post but it just goes to show how much I love it!
MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder
The lightweight formula makes these highlighters perfect for a dusting of shimmer, subtle but pigmented and all for £3!

4. Revolution
I'd be surprised if you hadn't heard of Revolution. they're a very new British brand that is 100% cruelty free and have completely dominated the shelves of drugstores. There was a huge commotion about their concealers which unfortunately I haven't tried yet as I'm a complete skeptic when it comes to very cheap face products. However I still have loads of products I love and use regularly.
Price range: £2.00-£30.00

Top Picks
Makeup Revolution Pro Regeneration Palette
Gorgeous shades and amazing pigment, reminds me a little of the Huda Beauty Rose Gold Palette so if youre after a potential dupe I adore this palette/

5. Rimmel London
Rimmel has been around for years, an iconic British brand known mainly for their mascaras and collaborations with British celebrities.

6. NYX
NYX have gained icon status in the beauty industry only recently. They're most known for their massive range of lip products and high quality brushes. They're a brand I come back to again and again for high quality, drugstore products.

NYX Professional Makeup brush
Super durable brushes that allow for smooth application.
NYX Hightlight & Contour Pro Palette
