Spring Summer 2019: Runway review

September. One of my favorite months of the year. Whats not to love? Signs of Winter begin to emerge, the commotion of fashion week has taken over the world and I end up spending a fortune on every 'September issue' the magazine stands boast at this time of year. But seriously, who can resist an extra large edition of Vogue?

No matter who you are, you cannot escape the fashion world in September.

To label this season 'bold' would be an understatement. The Spring Summer 2019 Runway's have been a delectable palette of colour, texture and trends. Let's run through the most prominent themes to expect this upcoming Summer.

Pure, angelic, almost bridal. The models practically floated down the catwalk last month sheathed in white from head to toe. All white has always been my favorite statement look, its subtle but absolutely beautiful on everyone. Festivals and heatwaves have all but eradicated the elegance of Summer, but I believe the sophistication of beautiful outdoor dinner parties and alfresco dining are creeping back into Summer. A white sundress would be a stunning addition to any woman's wardrobe this season, or alternatively, long, white, wide leg trousers will complete your look to any summer soiree.
Balmain, Off-White and Dolce and Gabanna

The 80's are officially back. And with that comes a whole lot of, you guessed it, denim. Be that acid washed or bejeweled, if you're not sporting an over-sized denim jacket or little denim shorts this coming Summer then you may as well stay inside. Denim is a staple in any wardrobe, light and extremely versatile it's a timeless fabric that you can wear all year round. For Summer, turn staple into statement with an iconic piece like a mini dress or bomber jacket that can be paired with anything for an on trend Summer look.

Stella McCartney, Balmain and V-Files

Beige, once a colour symbolic of only boredom, now a catwalk leader. The Kardashians' penchant for nude tones has finally caught on and we are totally loving it. Whether you opt for the richer browns and sand colours or the blushed pinky tones, as long as it's nude, it's in. Don't be afraid to bare it all by mixing shades of brown to create a beautiful monochromatic affect.

Fendi, Burberry and Chanel

I think its safe to say colour is in! Neon in particular is the perfect variance from the tedious bright florals' we are usually bombarded with every Spring. SS19 featured a beautiful kaleidoscope of neon colour blocking, technicolour prints and colour clashing. It's a bright, bold and beautiful time for experimentation so be fearless with your palette this season. We can expect a summer consumed by tropical hues and bright jeweled tones, a beautiful rainbow complexion. Neon is the way forward, hyper-bright tones of green and pink are the modern way to add a colour pop. Connotations of an ultra-modern, space age, exude from the neon fantasia seen on the catwalks of SS19.

Balenciaga, Off-White and Dolce and Gabanna

In a wonderfully wild turn of events, Animal print reappeared like a well planned ambush into the fashion world. Animal prints have finally escaped from the 'tacky' image developed in the early 2000's and honestly this is a revival we have all been desperate for. Snake and Leopard are the particular favorites this year. Animal prints are ideal for adding notes of exoticism to a look, they create a certain edge that completely epitomizes the emerging trends for this upcoming Summer.

Dolce and Gabanna, Gucci and Elie Saab

These are my favorite trends from the SS19 catwalks, the most iconic, must have looks that everyone will be rocking next year. The season has been one of my favorites, drop a comment below if you had a favorite show or look from Spring/Summer 2019.
