Beauty Trends for 2019

'New year new me', really? Instead of attempting to reinvent yourself, and then seemingly giving up after the first week of January, why not try something else this New Year. 2019 brings with it a whole load of new fashion and beauty trends, so this year remake your old self by rocking some clean, fresh outfits and makeup looks. Trust me, you'll feel like a new person.
So read on for my predictions of the top beauty trends that'll be kicking off 2019.

Sheer Gloss

The Glossy lid hype well and truly dominated the beauty industry in 2018. Gooey, baby pink lids were all the range, and while gloss shows no signs of budging, the trend itself has transformed a little. The Chanel SS19 Show boasted a clear, clean glossy eye on the runway, a beautiful, elegant look that could easily be an everyday statement. It's ethereal, but also very urban.

MAC Lipglass in Clear is an all time favourite clear gloss of mine. Applies smoothly and doesn't get sticky. For a cheaper alternative, NYX Butter glosses are amazing, only £4 and super glossy.

Peachy Keen

Pantone announced its colour of the year for 2019 is 'Living Coral', a beautiful pinky peach tone inspired by, well, coral. Clearly this was a good fit for the year and the season, as everyone in the fashion and beauty industries seem to be pulling out a peach pop to start off the year. The Moschino SS19 show had models rocking the peach toned glow, with a sculpted beach blush and a darker copper toned lip.

To achieve this look, you can opt for a beautiful peach blush, this will create a lovely warm, spring time glow. Try L'Oreal Paris Life's A Peach Blush for a budget friendly coral blush. Alternatively, you can create a simple, soft peach eye look, this is best suited for lighter skin tones and people with blue or brown eyes. Try Too Faced's Too Faced Sweet Peach Eye Shadow Palette.

For darker skin tones, try a burnt orange eyeshadow look to stay current, Juvia's Place is an amazing brand that stocks super pigmented palettes aimed at girls and boys with darker skin. The warrior II palette is ideal for this look.

Cool Toned Eyes

We haven't seen this trend since the disastrous days of 2000's makeup, but cool toned grey and browns are back with a modern twist. The Chloe SS19 womenswear collection showcased a very cool toned brown eye look, something I expect to see trending in the beauty industry very soon. It gives a very natural contour and flatters most eye colours so is a wonderful everyday look.

For the perfect cool toned palette, Urban Decay's Naked2 Eyeshadow Palette, this has the perfect selection of cool toned shadows for the season.

Pink is the new Red

Every season we see a new take on the red lip; a timeless classic. But honestly, we are kind of over it. This season, we are completely reinventing this age old classic. Swap a bright red lip for a dark pink pop for a modern and utterly breathtaking everyday look. Spotted on the Chanel runway and Dolce and Gabanna, this trend sees pink go from 'girly' to glamorous, this statement pink oozes confidence and undeniable boldness

Try the NYX Matte Suede Lipstick in the shade Bloody Mary for a bold pink statement, this lipstick has a beautiful formula and is super affordable.

Glitter Galore

Glitter is back, but not in the airy fairy way we saw last year, this time its back with a bang. A high impact, sculpted, shimmer is what we are looking for in 2019. Seen besides the likes of Versace and Missioni's Spring collections, glitter has returned. This homage to the 70's comes with the flare of 70's fashion flooding the streets at the moment.

For a high impact eye look, try smudging a black kohl liner across your lid in a bold, feline shape, then add a glitter on top to recreate a look similar to Versace. This is the perfect party look for the season! The Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow Palette is ideal if you want a different glitter for every occasion. It is a staple in my pro kit.

Colour Pop

Neon seems to be everywhere this spring, particularly the runway. All the top designers Spring collections are absolutely bursting with neon; Off White, Prada, the list goes on. Valentino boasted a beautiful neon green eye look, created by Pat McGrath, indicating that neon isn't just for clothes in 2019. This is perfect for the vibrancy that Spring brings, be part of the colourful influx with a matching eye look.

Makeup revolution's Mermaids Forever Palette has a great selection of bright metallic colours for the season. Alternatively, MAC have an awesome variety of bright kohl pencils to amplify your eyes with a bright pop for the season.

I hope you guys enjoyed this and found it helpful! I'm going to create one of these looks and post it on Instagram so let me know down below which one you want to see.

As always have a great week,

- Madeleine x
