Super Simple 5 Step Holiday Makeup Routine

After the mayhem of Fashion week, I was lucky enough to spend the last week in Algarve in Portugal with my wonderful boyfriend. We stayed just east of Albufiera, and had a spectacular week of sun, sand and laughter.
One thing I used to always struggle with is what makeup to bring when travelling, especially if you're only bringing carry on luggage, but now have refined my packing to a few staple products to create a beautiful, natural holiday makeup, perfect for days out in the sun. It's super simple and quick and I've broken it down into 5 easy steps that you can try, home or away, to ensure you're a total beach babe.
So step 1! Foundation. For my base I like to use Mac Face and Body because it's very lightweight and just adds a nice even tone to your face, which is perfect for warmer climates. They come in handy 50ml bottles which are great for travelling. I have to mix shade C3 and N1 to get my perfect shade, which ends up being a very neutral kind of tanned colour. My skin has both yellow and pink undertones so I find mixing the two tones gives a more natural finish.

For Step 2 I just conceal with the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define concealer, just dotting that round my under eyes and underneath my cheekbones where I get the most redness. I wear shade C8 which is literally an exact match to my foundation so it means I can conceal all over my face without creating lighter patches. This concealer is very full coverage so I use it very sparingly.

Step 3 is brows. I brush them through with a spoolie and then very lightly fill in any sparse areas with the e.l.f chubby brow pencil in the shade Taupe. I have very full brows, blame my Irish genes, so I like to keep their natural fullness and make sure they keep their shape by running some soap through them. You can use any clear soap, if you just spray the bar of soap with water and rub a spoolie into the soapy paste it works as an almost heavy duty brow gel.

The 4th step is a beautiful eye. To stay true to this natural look I just very lightly contour my eyes, first using the shade 'Caution' from the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette, any very pale brown shade will do just fine, and then using the Mac Contour Shade in Taupe in my crease, to further define my eyes. Then just curl my lashes and use the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara to complete the eye!

Onto the 5th and final step; completing my base. Using the Mac Prep and Prime loose powder I just set the main areas, around my nose, my T zone area and my jaw area. Then, going in with the Mac Contour in Taupe again, I contour my cheekbones, temple and jawline. For a nice warm blush I use Mac Blush in Melba for a golden peachy blushed look, perfect for any holiday. To add a little extra golden holiday glow, I use the Sisley Paris Phyto-Ombre Glow Eyeshadow in the shade Pearl on the tops of my cheekbones and on the bridge of my nose.

That is my amazing 5 Step Guide to Holiday Makeup! I find it much easier to pack when I know exactly what I'll be using so I really hope this was helpful for anyone travelling or even just a new look to try out. I'll add a breakdown of all the products below with links so check them out if you like. Also if you guys would like an Instagram or YouTube tutorial of this look just leave a comment down below.
